UR Solutions Is currently in the Process Of deploying Red Hat Openshift Container Platform Lab

What is container and why enterprises are adopting it when they already have virtual machines?

Enterprises are adopting containers for their applications as they offer several benefits over virtual machines. A container is a standard software unit that packages the minimum necessary elements required for application execution like the application, libraries, and dependencies.

On the other hand, a virtual machine acts like a separate computer that runs as a program on a computer.

Containers offer more portability and utilization benefits as they are lightweight and can be disposed of easily, unlike virtual machines, which are to be treated like pets.

UR Solutions Inc. is on the road to adopting the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for its lab deployment construction to embrace microservices and maximize the benefits of containers.

The advantage of containers over virtual machines is that in virtual machines, you need to allocate specific RAM, storage, and processor, which eats up many resources of the hypervisor, limiting the number of applications to be provisioned. In contrast, containers can maximize the utilization of resources, it automatically allocates resources from the host with a smaller footprint which means more applications could be utilized, making it more efficient.
