At Red Hat, we face the same issues and what we have found is that in order to find diverse talent, we need to go to where the talent is.

Later this year, Laurie Krebs, Red Hat’s senior vice president and chief finance officer (CFO), will retire after five years with the company. Carolyn Nash, currently vice president of global finance, transformations and operations, will be promoted to senior vice president and CFO replacing Laurie on April 1st. Until her retirement in July, Laurie will work with Carolyn to ensure a smooth transition.

Throughout 2021, the Red Hat Customer and Partner Experience team analyzed thousands of feedback collected through our net promoter score (NPS) survey, focus groups, and more. Diversity, equity and inclusion is a key commitment of Red Hat. We aim to reflect it in our people and also want to help improve representation and inclusivity in the tech industry for women, people of color, and other marginalized groups. So given the opportunity to support a new coding movement for girls, we jumped at the chance. What’s extraordinary about this movement is that it’s being led by a London schoolgirl. 

Life moves fast. Innovation moves faster. We’re all in a rush to keep up. Every now and then, it’s important to hit the pause button and reflect on achievements. Reflection isn’t just good for the soul. The accomplishments of others can be the gateway to our own progress. By taking inspiration and learnings from others, we can overcome organizational groupthink, draw on a more diverse pool of ideas and experiences, and shortcut our way to solutions and success.
