As a result, how customers access cloud technology and services has evolved.

Just over a decade ago, Marc Andreessen pointed out that software was eating the world. We can definitively update his quote to be more accurate: "Software ate the world." Software has taken over our businesses and how you create value for your customers.

Open source can fan the sparks of potential around the world, unlike any system that has ever existed. It solves two fundamental problems that limit innovation: 

• Having ideas be noticed

• Having ideas be iterated on. 

Today I gave a keynote address at Red Hat Summit; the following is an excerpt from that talk.

The past two years have focused on "what we all had been going through." But I think we should look at it as "what we have and are accomplishing." 

Each year during Red Hat Summit, we recognize Red Hat Certified Professionals who make a difference in their organizations by demonstrating enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to their role and industry. We’re proud to announce that Neil D’Souza, Senior Site Reliability Engineer at ServiceNow, has been named the 2022 Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year.

Open source has long been a force multiplier for innovation. Time and time again, operating in the open source way has proven that the power of many is stronger than the power of few.

Earlier today, we announced the winners of the 2022 Red Hat Innovation Awards, recognizing our customers’ achievements with open source technology. Each year, we have many strong entries that showcase what innovative thinking, open culture, and transformative uses of Red Hat technology can do for business and society.

For the 16th year, the Red Hat Innovation Awards are recognizing the technological achievements of Red Hat customers around the world who demonstrate creative problem-solving to make a positive impact on the business world and on society. This year’s winners are the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), the Center of Computing and Information Systems, Telefónica Colombia, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

We are excited to announce that Shuchi Sharma has joined us as vice president and chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer (CDEIO). In her new role, Shuchi will be responsible for leading Red Hat’s DEI Global Center of Excellence, which is focused on setting our DEI strategies that align with our short and long-term business goals and partnering across our leadership, business and people practices. These practices include attracting and retaining diverse talent, career advancement and associate development.

In this month’s customer success highlights, you’ll learn how Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Consulting are helping different organizations modernize their business processes through digital transformation, container adoption and process automation. Not only are these projects helping achieve current priorities and goals, they’re also laying the groundwork for future scalability and innovation.

As we’ve said before, every IT organization is different - from the underlying architecture and public cloud usage to edge strategies and the applications actually running in production.

The Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources, or EIOS, is a collaboration between public health stakeholders around the globe to create a unified, all-hazards, "One Health" approach to early detection of threats to public health from publicly available sources, their verification, risk assessment, ongoing threat monitoring, situation analysis and communication between relevant stakeholders to provide actionable intelligence for decision making.
