As Red Hat Summit continues, so does the Partner Experience. Building on the content, keynotes and sessions during Red Hat Summit in April, we’re offering even more breakout sessions, celebrity appearances and Ask the Expert sessions on June 15-16.

By any measure, 2020 was a challenging year for most organizations. According to the American Cancer Society, roughly 4,950 new cases get diagnosed each day, in the United States alone. Modern data centers and IT environments need enhanced threat detection and policy management across bare metal and Kubernetes deployments. This is why Red Hat announced our plans to support NVIDIA BlueField DPUs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat OpenShift.

Red Hat is pleased to introduce an expanded Red Hat OpenShift Certification to further support applications on Kubernetes and container orchestration across hybrid cloud footprints. With this certification, Red Hat partners can enable and certify their software solutions on OpenShift through either Operators or Helm charts.

This post compares the performance of some of the most popular database workloads on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.3 powered by Intel’s Cascade Lake and the recently available Intel’s Ice Lake CPU. In our performance runs, the two CPU designs are compared on the performance lab’s "white-box" hardware servers with similar performance optimized memory configurations using the same NvME IO controllers and the HammerDB workload driver.

Earlier today, we announced the winners of the 2021 Red Hat Innovation Awards, recognizing the technological achievements of our customers around the world. Each year we receive so many strong entries that showcase creative problem-solving, innovative thinking and transformative uses of Red Hat technology that we want to bring more of those stories to you. 

We are delighted to welcome Jennifer "Jen" Dudeck as senior vice president and chief people officer. In her new role, Jen will be responsible for leading Red Hat’s People team, which is focused on attracting, developing and rewarding associates around the world.

In February 2020 Red Hat proudly announced that we had earned a place on Fortune’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. At the time, achieving such a distinction seemed guaranteed to be one of the most memorable moments of the year. 2020 had other ideas, though.

Each year at Red Hat Summit we look forward to showcasing unique partner stories and our joint successes in helping customers achieve open hybrid cloud innovation. This year, we are pleased to introduce the Partner Experience: an integrated, immersive experience for partners within the Red Hat Summit 2021 event.

Earlier this year we announced changes to our global sales leadership, and as Larry Stack takes on the role of executive vice president of Global Sales and Services, we’re excited to announce changes to our regional leadership team.

Today’s 6-2 Supreme Court decision is a win for developers and the software industry; it recognizes the critical role of software interfaces to promote innovation, interoperability, and new technologies. Last year, Red Hat and IBM filed a joint amicus brief in this case urging the Supreme Court to overturn the lower court decision. The issues in this case were complex and the Supreme Court is to be commended for wrestling with its decades long history.
